I. OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use verb + preposition collocations, understand collocations in a text about the future colonisation of the moon or Mars and use them to give opinions on these

III. PROCEDURES:

A. Warm-up (8’)

a) Objective: Introduce the new lesson and set the scene for Ss to acquire a new language; get students' attention at the beginning of the class by means of enjoyable and short activities as well as engage them in the steps that followed.

b) Content: “Name the Planets” game + exercise 1 page 99

c) Outcomes: Students can gain more confidence and interest in the lesson.

d) Competence: communication, collaboration, guessing

Ask students to focus their attention on the highlighted verb + preposition collocations in the text.

Ask students to find more verbs + preposition collocations

Check answers as a class

Work in pairs to complete the task

Read the text carefully again and check for unknown vocabularies

Brainstorm the answer for the question on the title, give reasons

Listen to other pairs’ answers and check with teacher

Look at the highlighted verb + preposition collocations in the text.

Find five more verbs (with for (x2), to, with, and at)

Correct answers with teacher
