By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

WARM-UP/REVIEW (5 minutes)

Aim: To motivate students and help students remember action words.

*Game: “Vocabulary review”

- Set up the activity.

- Place the flashcards about the actions on the board so that students can’t see them. Ask students to shout out the words.

- When they get one correct, turn over the flashcard so students can see it.

- Continue until they have remembered all the vocabulary.

- Praise students if they have done well.

- Task uncompleted: Students are unable to say the words.

- Listen to the teacher’s instructions.

PRESENTATION (10 minutes)

Aim: To help students identify actionsand improve students’ pronunciation skills.

*Lead-in: Use flashcards 96-98 to present the vocabulary.

- Use flashcards to introduce new vocabulary.

- Hold the flashcards up one at a time and say the words for students to repeat. Then hold them up in random order for students to repeat again.

- Repeat the words again for students to mime the actions.

- Stick the flashcards to the board and write the words under them.

- Call some students read the words aloud.

- Remark on students’ pronunciation.

- Play the recording again. Ask students to repeat each word after they hear it.

- Call some students to read all the words aloud.

- Play the recording through once for students to follow in their books.

- Play the recording again for students to sing along.

- Call on two groups/students to perform for the class.

- Check students’ pronunciation. Praise students if they have done well.

*Sing and do

- Ask students to look at the pictures and tell an action for each verse of the song.

- Play the song again. Sing and do the actions as a class.

- Ask two groups/students to sing and do the actions in front of the class.

- Praise students if they have done well.
