WARM-UP/REVIEW (5 minutes)

Aim: To motivate students and help students to remember food words.

*Game:“Who’s faster?”

Flashcards (rice, meat, yogurt, carrots, bread)

- Preparesets of food cards or pictures on the board.

- Ask students to work in groups.

- Show a picture on the board and ring the bell.

- Ask students to raise their hands as fast as they can to speak up the picture’s name.

- The student with the correct answer will get scores for their team.

- Ask students to read all the words aloud.

- Remark students’ pronunciation.

Aim: To help students identify drink words and improve students’ pronunciation skills.

*Lead-in: Use Flashcards 60-62 to introduce the new words.

- Hold up the cards one at a time and say the words for students to repeat.

- Ask What’s this? Students say the name of the drink.

- Put the flashcards around the room. Say a word and ask students to run to that flashcard. Continue, calling out each word several times.

- Praise students if they have done well.

- Ask students to look at the pictures. Point to the different types of food and drink in the pictures one at a time and ask studentsWhat’s this? / What are these?

- Encourage them to make predictions about what the song is about.

- Play the recording for students to listen and point to the pictures when they hear the food and drink words.

- Read each line of the song out loud for students to repeat.

- Play the recording again as students follow the words in their books.

- Recite the words of the song with the class, without the recording. Say each line for students to repeat.

- Play the recording again for students to sing along.

- Check students’ pronunciation. Praise students if they have done well.
