HIỆN TẠI TIẾP DIỄN

1. Diễn tả một thói quen, một hành động xảy ra thường xuyên lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại. Eg: He watches TV every night. 2. Diễn tả một chân lý, một sự thật hiển nhiên. Eg: The sun rises in the East. 3. Diễn tả một lịch trình có sẵn, thời khóa biểu, chương trình Eg: The plane leaves for London at 12.30 p.m. 4. Dùng sau các cụm từ chỉ thời gian when, as soon as… và trong câu điều kiện loại 1 Eg: I will call you as soon as I arrive.

1. Diễn tả một hành động đang xảy ra tại hiện tại. Eg: The children are playing football now. 2. Dùng theo sau câu đề nghị, mệnh lệnh. Eg: Look! The child is crying. 3. Thì này còn được dùng để diễn tả một hành động sắp xảy ra. Eg: He is coming tomorrow.

2. Cấu trúc

4. Một số trường hợp đặc biệt của hiện tại đơn và hiện tại tiếp diễn

Hiện tại đơn (Present Simple Tense)	Hiện tại tiếp diễn (Present Continuous Tense)
	Một số động từ chỉ hành động (action verb) như know, understand, v.v…hoặc thể hiện sự yêu ghét như love, like, hate, v.v…không dùng ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn.
S + always + V Ý nghĩa: Diễn tả những việc thường xuyên làm, xảy ra và chủ yếu mang nghĩa tiêu cực.   Ex: He always goes to school late.	S + always + V-ing Ý nghĩa: Diễn tả những việc xảy ra liên tục với tần suất cao hơn thông thường và đa số mang nghĩa tiêu cực. Ex: She is always forgetting her bag.
	Không sử dụng “have” ở thì hiện tại tiếp diễn với nghĩa là sở hữu. Ex: Câu đúng: I have a luxury bag Câu sai: I am having a luxury bag.
To be selfish Ý nghĩa: Nói về cách hành xử của 1 người ngay lúc đó. Ex: He is selfish, through and through. (Cậu ta là rất ích kỷ, lúc nào cũng như vậy) .	Tobe + being selfish Ý nghĩa: Nói về cách hành xử của 1 người ngay lúc đó. Ex: It’s surprising to me that the boy is being so selfish. (Tôi ngạc nhiên vì cậu bé đang hành xử quá ích kỷ) .
