Tài liệu Ngữ pháp, bài tập So sánh với tính từ lớp 8 có đáp án trình bày khái quát lại ngữ pháp, cấu trúc, cách dùng cũng như bài tập có đáp án chi tiết nhằm mục đích giúp học sinh ôn luyện ngữ pháp và đạt kết quả cao trong các bài thi môn Tiếng Anh lớp 8.

COMPARATIVE FORMS OF ADJECTIVES

A. LÝ THUYẾT

I- PHÂN BIỆT TÍNH TỪ NGẮN & TÍNH TỪ DÀI

1. Phân biệt tính từ ngắn & tính từ dài:

Tính từ ngắn (Short adjectives) (Ký hiệu trong bài này là: S-adj)	Tính từ dài (Long adjectives) (Ký hiệu trong bài này là: L-adj)
- Là tính từ có một âm tiết Ví dụ: - red, long, short, hard,….	- Là tính từ có từ 2 âm tiết trở lên Ví dụ: - beautiful, friendly, humorous, ….

II. CẤU TRÚC SO SÁNH HƠN

So sánh hơn với tính từ ngắn và trạng từ ngắn:

Cấu trúc:       

S1 + S-adj + er/ S-adv- er + than + S2 + Axiliary V

S1 + S-adj + er/ S-adv- er + than + O/ N/ Pronoun

Trong đó:       S-adj-er: là tính từ ngắn thêm đuôi “er”

                        S-adv-er: là trạng từ ngắn thêm đuôi “er”

                        S1: Chủ ngữ 1 (Đối tượng được so sánh)

                        S2: Chủ ngữ 2 (Đối tượng dùng để so sánh với đối tượng 1)

                        Axiliary V: trợ động từ

                        O (object): tân ngữ

                        N (noun): danh từ

                        Pronoun: đại từ

Ví dụ:

- This book isthicker thanthat one. (Cuốn sách này dày hơn cuốn sách kia.)

- They workharder thanI do. = They workharder thanme. (Họ làm việc chăm chỉ hơn tôi.)

III. Cách sử dụng tính từ trong câu so sánh hơn:

1.Cách thêm đuôi –er vào tính từ ngắn

Tính từ kết thúc bởi 1 phụ âm àthêm đuôi –er	Old-older, near-nearer
Tính từ kết thúc bởi 1 nguyên  âm “e” àthêm đuôi –r	Nice-nicer
Tính từ kết thúc bởi 1 nguyên  âm(ueoai) +1 phụ âm à gấp đôi phụ âm cuối và thêm đuôi -er	Big-bigger, hot-hotter, fat-fatter
Tính từ kết thúc bởi “y” dù có 2 âm tiết vẫn là tính từ ngắn àbỏ “y” và thêm đuôi “ier”	Happy-happier,  Pretty-prettier

Lưu ý: Một số tính từ có hai âm tiết kết thúc bằng “et, ow, er, y” thì áp dụng như quy tắc thêm er ở tính từ ngắn

Ví dụ: quiet àquieter                       clever à cleverer

          Simple à simpler                              narrow ànarower

2.Một vài tính từ đặc biệt:

 Với một số tính từ sau, dạng so sánh hơn của chúng không theo quy tắc trên.

I. Điền vào chỗ trống dạng so sánh đúng của từ trong ngoặc.

18. French is considered to be (difficult) …………………….than English. but Chinese is the (difficult) …………………….language.

19. It’s the (large)……………………. company in the country.

Đáp án

1 cleverer; 2. longer; 3. More interesting

4. cleaner; 5. more expensive; 6. more quickly; 7. more dangerous

8. more sweetly; 9.cheaper; 10. Faster 11. More carefully

12. closer 13. More beautifull; 14. hotter; 15. worse

16. better; 17. big - bigger; 18. more difficult 

II. Hoàn thành các câu so sánh sau:

1. So sánh hơn

a. Mary/ tall/ her brother.

Đáp án:

a - Mary is  taller than her brother.

b - A lemon is not sweeter than orange.

c - A donkey is not bigger thana horse.

d - This dress is prettier than that one.

e - The weather is not colder thanyesterday.
