IMPERATIVE SENTENCES

CÂU MỆNH LỆNH

A. LÝ THUYẾT

Câu mệnh lệnh (imperative sentence) là câu dùng để ra lệnh, sai khiến hoặc đề nghị. Có hai loại câu mệnh lệnh: câu mệnh lệnh khẳng định và câu mệnh lệnh phủ định.
1. Câu mệnh lệnh khẳng định:
+ Câu mệnh lệnh khẳng định được thành lập theo 2 cách:
— Cách 1: Verb (động từ) + object (tân ngữ)
Ex:
Open your book. (hãy mở sách của bạn ra.)
Close your book. (hãy gấp sách của bạn lại)
Open the door. (hãy mở của ra.)
— Cách 2: [Verb (động từ) + preposition (Giới từ)
Ex:
Come in. (hãy vào di.)
Sit down. (hãy ngồi xuống.)
Stand up. (hãy đứng lên.)
+ Dùng “please” trong câu mệnh lệnh làm cho câu nhẹ nhàng và lịch sự hơn.
Ex:
Open the door, please (Vui lòng mở cửa ra.)
Please come in. (Vui lòng vào di.)
Sit down, please. (Vui lòng ngồi xuống.)

2. Câu mệnh lệnh phủ định:
Câu mệnh lệnh phủ định được thành lập theo cách:
Don’t + verb + object/preposition
Ex:
Don’t open the door. (Đừng mở cửa ra.)
Don’t come in. (Đừng vào.)
Don’t go. (Đừng đi.)

B. BÀI TẬP VẬN DỤNG

Bài 1: Chuyển các câu sau thành câu mệnh lệnh phủ định

Turn off the light When you go out. -> .......................
Be silly. I will come back. -> .......................
John asked me to turn off the radio. -> .......................
Please tell her to leave the room. -> .......................
My mother ordered me to clean my room. -> .......................

Đáp án

Don't turn off the light When you go out.
Don't be silly. I will come back.

Bài 2: Điền động từthích hợp vào chỗ trống
