(*) Câu gián tiếp với động từ nguyên thể (reported speech with infinitive(s) )

Khi những câu phát biểu/ mệnh lệnh được tường thuật với các động từ sau, ta sử dụng to-V kèm theo:

a. V + to-V: agree, decide, demand, determine, expect, guarantee, hope, offer, promise, refuse, say, want, wish, propose,…

Ví dụ:

“OK. I’ll give you a lift”, said Terry.

→ Terry agreed to give me a lift.

b. V + O + to-V: advise, allow, ask, beg, command, encourage, expect, help, invite, instruct, order, permit, persuade, remind, request, require, tell, urge, want, warn,…

Ví dụ:

“Don’t forget to send Mike a birthday card, Kante”, I said.

→ I reminded Kante to send Mike a birthday card.
