The line graph elucidates information on the money spent on buying books in the four various countries - Germany, France, Italy and Austria - for 10 years period from 1995-2005.
An overall impression reveals that there has been a different trend for the amount of money spent by people from the different countries but the figures in Germany showed the greatest increase of money spent in book purchasing as this made up the largest number of millions spent in buying throughout most of the time (1995-2005).
The proportion of people buying books in Germany portrayed 80 million in 1995, but this figure surged to 95 million by the end of the year 2005. France and Italy showed proportions approximately similar to each other with fairly constant trend in 1995 to 1997, but both reached its peaked by the year 2005 (around 50-75 million respectively). However, Austria showed a gradual incline starting 1995 to 1999 then surged to a high of 65 million in 2005.
It's interesting to note that the number of millions spent in buying for German people consistently raised from the start till the end of 2005 compared to the three various countries.

In 1995 Austria spent the least amount of money on books, while Italy and France spent about as much as each other. However, by 2001, the gap in spending between these two countries had widened and considerably more money was spent in France than In Italy.
As can be seen from the graph, the amount of money spent increased in all four countries but rose the most dramatically in Austria. The period between 2000 and 2005 saw a sharp growth and in 2005 the Austrians spent three times as much money as they did in 1995.
However, during this ten-year period, Germany remained the biggest spenders on book, with all three other countries spending much less on them.

Overall, it is clear that people in Germany spent more on books than those in the other three nations. In addition, over the 10-year period, spending on books increased in all four countries.
It can be seen from the graph that in 1995, precisely $80 million was spent on books in Germany. The spending figures for France and Italy were similar, at $55 million and $50 million, respectively, whereas the figure for Austria was much lower at just $30 million. Despite some fluctuations, the amount of money spent on books in Germany continued to be higher than in other countries throughout the period, which reached a peak of around $95 million in 2005.
There was a steady increase in the expenditure on books in France, and this finally reached a figure of $75 million in 2005. This was similar to the figure in Austria, where the money spent on books rose sharply from $40 million in 2001 to over $70 million in 2005. In Italy, spending on books saw a gradual increase for 10 years, reaching a final figure of just over $60 million in 2005.

Overall, it is obvious that German people spent the most compared to the other 3 countries. However, the amount of money in all four countries seemed to have increased gradually over the 10-year period.
In 1995, German spent almost $80 million on books while the figure for France was approximately $55 million and Italy for $50 million, whereas it was much lower in Australia for about $30 million. From 1995 to 1999, while other countries were tended to increase very rapidly, there was some fluctuations in the amount of money spent in Italy. It reached the number of about $55 million in 1997 then gradually decreased to below $50 million, which was its lowest point in general.
During the period of time between 1999 and 2003, there was a steady increase in the expenditure of France and Italy. Whereas the amount of money spent in Australia flutuated the most. It did not vary much and remained at an average of $40 million during the 2 years 1999 and 2001, then it significantly increased to reach the amount of $60 million. In general, spending on books saw a gradual increased throughout the remainder of the period in all 4 countries which reached the highest amount of almost $100 million in Germany.
